Position Overview

This role makes a key contribution to the success of KSL TV operations by airing programs and breaks, monitoring broadcasts for multiple channels, and communicating with different departments as needed.

This is an on-site role that requires the employee to work at our Salt Lake site.

This role's expected shift is 7am-3pm Tuesday-Thursday, 11p-7a Friday and Saturday. Shift can very depending on staffing needs.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor multiple incoming and outgoing signals via broadcast and streaming  
  • Maintain broadcast log and schedule timing  
  • Ensures the continuity of station programming is accurate
  • On-air switching of live news and network broadcasts 
  • Set up, control and monitor broadcast equipment 
  • Prepares content and clips for on-air playback
  • Support the production of newscasts and other live or recorded programs 
  • Follow FCC and EAS monitoring procedures 
  • Cross-training on other shifts in the event of scheduling emergencies
  • Render service on additional projects or special assignments as requested by managers
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

  • Previous Master Control experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of NVerzion Automation equipment is helpful 
  • Must be a team player and work well with others
  • Maintain positive and cooperative rapport with staff and management
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • Computer literacy is a must 
  • Ability to learn specialized broadcast applications 
  • Able to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays in order to meet the needs of a 24/7/365 operation

  • Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 25 pounds on occasion

Compensation

$18.00 – $23.00 an hour. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
