The Key Account Manager is responsible for the business development of major corporate customers, analyzing current and potential business. They must be able drive sales growth, build strong relationships with key accounts, and support Johnson Brothers’ initiatives through the creation and presentation of value-added beverage marketing programs. Management of key accounts includes but is not limited to account planning, specific action plans to leverage our capabilities (category management, compliance tracking, pricing strategies, etc.) as well as the following areas: profitability, future and current opportunities for increased share of sales, distribution decisions, and identifying purchasing patterns. The Key Account Manager must also provide timely, accurate and complete program information, monitor inventories with operations, verify pricing, drive compliance, and provide superior customer service as a top priority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Target each day in the NV market to grow the portfolio on your own and with Johnson Brothers personnel to achieve sales goals, including programs, new placements, revenue, and depletions.
  • Be single point of customer contact and provide timely and superior customer service.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers across the Johnson Brothers NV sales divisions.
  • Understand customer needs and goals and sell business solutions accordingly.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Supplier NA counterparts, communicating account goals and direction and guiding them to business opportunities.
  • Prioritize corporate and national supplier efforts within each Corporate Customer account to ensure Johnson Brothers is their National Account distributor of choice: 1) brand priorities; 2) attend joint planning sessions to understand corporate supplier objectives and goals for each account.
  • Maintain account profile and customer data base.
  • Provide all account information and activity to keep account folder updated on SharePoint.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with key personnel from local District Managers to the buyers.
  • Introduce and present new items to buyers for placement.
  • Submit all required information to all customers in a timely manner, including price files, new item forms, sell sheets, etc.
  • Assemble presentations for effective sales calls to key buyers.
  • Assist in attaining sales and distribution goals that pertain to the Johnson Brothers yearly business plan.
  • Report all activities to managers in a timely manner for execution in the trade.
  • Ensure all pricing is current in all chains.
  • Present and close programs to buyers
  • Follow up in the trade to make sure programs are executed.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide buyers with sales numbers, pricing programs and opportunities· Handle state issues of assigned accounts sales, operations and compliance.
  • Conduct business reviews of assigned Key accounts.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Skills & Abilities
    • Demonstrated ability to be able to become a consultative partner to ensure Corporate Customers that Johnson Brothers is their distributor of choice.
    • Self- starter and driven personality to be able to achieve corporate account objectives. Understand account level P&L's and ROI
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft office and can learn new technical programs as assigned.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple accounts and tasks.
  • Years of Experience
    • 5+ years of Sales or Trade Development experience required.
    • Proven track record of creating and presenting successful beverage marketing platforms and concepts that drive incremental business across the enterprise.
    • Previous experience with presenting presentations to groups, senior management, etc. is required.
    • Strong knowledge of alcohol industry.
    • Experience with educational presentations and sales meetings is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned market
