At our location in Bönen (near Dortmund), we are looking for a Junior Herd Manager (m/f/d) to join us as soon as possible.

Responsibilities / Tasks

- Global Herd Management Support

  • Provide expert guidance on herd management topics and support the use of GEA software solutions (e.g., DairyNetBox, CowScout, CattleEye)

  • Advise on feeding strategies and performance optimization, especially after the implementation of automated milking and feeding systems

  • Offer hands-on support during system commissioning and beyond

- Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Conduct international training sessions and contribute to the development of learning formats, from e-learning modules to webinars

  • Help create, maintain, and update training materials and digital content

- Communication & Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, global herd managers, and service specialists

  • Handle service requests via ticketing systems and ensure timely, effective solutions

- Project Work & Innovation

  • Participate in development projects aimed at improving herd management processes and digital solutions

  • Support the creation of technical documentation, guidelines, and presentations

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • A degree in agricultural sciences with a focus on cattle, veterinary science or a comparable agricultural qualification

  • First professional experience in herd management or similar

  • Additional practical expertise in feeding or breeding is a plus

  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset and the ability to work independently

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, and a collaborative spirit

  • Curiosity, openness or experience in working with AI-based tools and technologies to enhance herd management and decision-making

  • Strong English skills (spoken and written); other languages are a bonus

  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion
