Junior Designer – AGENCY TEMP

Avalanche, a division of WB Games Inc., is looking for a highly motivated Game Designer to join our team as an Agency Temp. As a Temp Junior Designer, you will be assigned to work across multiple aspects of the game’s development to help meet the goals of the studio’s current projects.

We are looking for talented and passionate game makers, preferably with some previous experience creating and tuning game content.

What part will you play?

  • Research, design, and document gameplay mechanics with the help of your design lead.
  • Build and iterate prototypes of gameplay mechanics, systems, and features using Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprints.
  • Collaborate with your design lead to translate ideas into functional gameplay experiences.
  • Test and tune mechanics for playability, performance, and feel.
  • Debug and troubleshoot Blueprints.
  • Work with other departments to implement SFX, FX, missions and other gameplay mechanics.
  • The candidate will have the opportunity to be mentored by senior members of the design team.

What do we require from you?

  • Proven experience working in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Passion for numerous console games and a knowledge of game mechanics across a variety of genres and platforms.
  • Skills in Blueprint scripting for level design ingredients, gameplay mechanics, and interactive systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and maintain positive attitude.
  • Ability to take direction and focus on assigned tasks.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and creative thinker with fresh ideas.
  • Pursuing a degree in Game Design or equivalent degree in a creative field preferred but not required. (Art/Illustration/Storytelling/Computer Science)
