About The Role

At Corebridge we are committed to empowering our architecture teams by actively involving them in shaping enterprise policies and standards, while granting them authority over the creation of principles, patterns, and reference architectures. This ensures alignment, agility, and innovation across our technology landscape. 

At Corebridge, the Jr. Enterprise Architect (EA) creates, administers, and maintains architectures in support of business project initiatives. Works with the EA Lead/Head to understand the architecture to develop and implement appropriate strategy, innovation, community, standards and governance. Review overall environment and assess architectural standards in place. Communicate architectural standards and promote adherence to them. Report to IT leadership on issues and possible exceptions.  Responsibilities include analyzing business and technical requirements, assisting in the creation of architecture models and roadmaps, and participating in architecture review processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support Architecture Development: Assist Solution Architects in creating and maintaining architecture models and roadmaps that align with business project initiatives and enterprise strategy
  • Domain / Technical Strategy: Take ownership, conduct research and become a subject matter export over one or more technical capabilities and/or business domains in order to influence strategies.
  • Promote Standards and Governance: Communicate architectural standards and promote adherence across teams, reporting exceptions and issues to IT leadership
  • Collaborate with EA Leads: Work closely with senior architects and EA leadership to understand strategic direction and contribute to community standards and innovation efforts
  • Participate in Architecture Reviews: Engage in architecture review processes, providing input on proposals and assessing alignment with enterprise principles and patterns
  • Contribute to Policy and Reference Materials: Help update and maintain architecture-related content, including reference architectures, standards, and capability models

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years in IT roles such as Software Development, Solution Architecture, Technical Lead. 
  • Programming languages (i.e. Python, SQL, etc.)
  • Proven team leadership skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset. 
  • Confidence in guiding solution architects as they develop cost-effective and strategically-aligned solutions. 
  • Ability to create, administer, and maintain architecture models and roadmaps that support business project initiatives 
  • Capable of analyzing business and technical requirements and resolving increasingly complex issues within a specialized architectural domain 
  • Customer journey mapping, Business process mapping. 
  • AI solution and implementation experience 

Compensation

The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.

In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location

This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX or Durham, NC office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
