Join our Technology Solutions division as a Summer Intern and gain hands-on experience working with our Development and Enterprise Architecture (EA) teams. You’ll assist in enhancing both member-facing and internal web applications, contribute to process and application improvements, and support our journey toward cloud-native solutions.

What You’ll Learn

  • Real-world experience with enterprise web applications built using Angular, Web API, C#, and SQL Server.
  • Exposure to Azure cloud-native development, including App Services, Function Apps, Managed Identity, Storage Accounts, and Service Bus.
  • Working in sprints, managing backlogs, and collaborating in cross-functional teams.
  • Exposure to various stages of the software development lifecycle.
  • Understanding the purpose of different tiers of an application (front-end, middleware, and back-end) and the tools and technologies associated with each.
  • Basic security principles and secure coding practices.
  • Best practices in software engineering for a scalable and maintainable development.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Exposure to various controls that are in place to ensure quality, compliance, and security throughout the development process.
  • Best practices in framework upgrades and UI standardization across banking applications.
  • Exposure to Bank operations and end-of-day (EOD) processes.
  • Introduction to data integration and ETL processes using tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Responsibilities

  • Assist development teams and EA team with enhancements to web applications and internal tools.
  • Support repository and branch clean-up and help define upgrade paths for frameworks.
  • Contribute to UI standardization efforts across Bank applications.
  • Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements for development and deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with team members to document solutions and share knowledge.
  • Create technical diagrams for applications to support architecture and development documentation.
  • Utilizing Visual Studio in combination with GitHub Copilot (AI) to assist with code comprehension, generate unit test cases, and enhance development productivity.

Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university (junior, senior, or graduate student).
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of Software development, Database principles, Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in taking initiative.
  • Coursework or hands-on experience in programming, including front-end or back-end software development.
  • Familiarity with repository management tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity of Angular Web API, C#, SQL Server, and Azure cloud services is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Azure architecture such as App Services, Function Apps, Managed Identity, Storage Accounts, and Service Bus is a plus.
  • Experience or coursework in cloud-native application development is a plus.

Additional Details

  • Internship hours are flexible (generally within Bank’s operating hours) and can be adjusted to accommodate academic commitments.
  • The intern will work in a collaborative, hybrid environment with opportunities for professional development and mentorship.
