Your day at NTT DATA
The IT Technical Support Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for providing a service to internal clients to ensure that the IT infrastructure and systems remain operational.

This role proactively identifies, investigates, and resolves complex technical incidents and problems and restoring service to clients by ensuring these incidents are managed to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Support

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki (MX, MS, MR series) and Huawei enterprise solutions.

  • Maintain and optimize network performance, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, and network security.

  • Support and maintain CCTV systems, especially Huawei IP surveillance.

  • Utilize network monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and remote support platforms for proactive issue resolution.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and clear communication to resolve technical issues promptly.

  • Maintain documentation for network configurations and system changes.

Fit Out & Renovation Support

  • Execute structured cabling and network installations during new office fit outs.

  • Set up and commission IT infrastructure in new or refurbished spaces.

  • Coordinate with vendors and assist in project management for IT-related installations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree/Higher Diploma / Diploma in Information Technology or Information Systems or Computer Sciences or Business Information Technology or Business Information Systems, Telecommunication engineering or related discipline.

  • 2–3 years of experience in IT infrastructure support or network administration

  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki, routers, switches, and structured cabling.

  • Exposure to CCTV systems, UPS, and POS hardware.

  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and remote troubleshooting

  • Basic knowledge of vendor coordination and project management principles.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to travel between multiple client locations within Nairobi.

  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact with multinational clients in a premium workspace environment.

Preferred Certifications with Practical Knowledge:

  • Meraki Certification (required).

  • CCNA, CCNP, or Huawei HCIA/HCIP (preferred)

  • ITIL Foundation or similar certification.

Preferred Work Experience

  • Hands-on involvement in office fit outs or IT setup projects.

  • Experience in network security and VPN configuration.

  • Familiarity with enterprise-grade IT environments.
