Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and strategic IT Manager to lead our modern corporate technology function. Reporting to the Vice President of IT, InfoSec, GRC, and Cloud Security, this is a critical leadership role responsible for scaling our IT operations, championing a secure and compliant environment, and mentoring a high-performing team.
You will be responsible for a distributed team of 6 across multiple offices and time zones, driving efficiency through robust processes, excellent service management, and a culture of automation. This role is perfect for a leader who thrives in a cloud-first, automation-heavy organization and is an expert in building up people, processes, and technology into systems that are both secure and user-friendly.
What you will do:
- Lead & Mentor: Manage a distributed team of 6 IT professionals, fostering their growth, managing performance, and building a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Own IT Operations: Oversee our IT Service Management (ITSM) function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support, defining and reporting on SLAs/SLOs, and continuously improving the employee experience.
- Drive Compliance: Collaborate closely with Compliance and GRC teams to own IT's role in our compliance programs, managing controls, gathering evidence, and interfacing with auditors for HIPAA and SOC2.
- Financial & Vendor Management: Manage the IT budget, oversee procurement, and lead vendor management activities, including contract negotiations and relationship management.
- Manage Assets: Direct the full lifecycle of corporate IT assets, from procurement and deployment to maintenance and disposal.
- Engineer & Document Processes: Design, implement, and document scalable IT processes. Build and maintain a robust knowledge management library to empower both your team and our employees.
- Champion Modern Operations: Integrate GitOps and ChatOps methodologies into your team's workflows, complementing and enhancing our automation-first engineering culture.
What you will bring to SmithRx:
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience in an IT leadership role with direct people management responsibility.
- Industry & Compliance: Proven experience in a regulated industry (e.g., healthtech, fintech) with deep, hands-on knowledge of HIPAA and SOC2 compliance frameworks.
- Strategic Experience: Demonstrated experience managing IT budgets, assets, and vendor negotiations.
- Modern Stack Experience: Demonstrated expertise managing a cloud-first, heterogeneous IT environment that is not dependent on Microsoft Active Directory as the primary identity source.
- Identity: Deep experience with cloud-native Identity Providers (IdP) to manage the full identity lifecycle, access control, and application provisioning.
- Endpoints: Expertise in managing and securing mixed-OS endpoint fleets (macOS and Windows) using modern, API-driven MDM/RMM platforms.
- Collaboration: Experience administering and securing major cloud-based collaboration suites.
- Networking: Strong understanding of Zero Trust network architecture concepts (e.g., secure web gateways, client-based private access).
- Process: A passion for process design and engineering, with a focus on building scalable, repeatable, auditable systems.
- Bonus Points:
- Significant experience in IT and systems engineering management with healthtech companies
- Practical experience integrating IT operations with CI/CD pipelines (GitOps).
- Experience with open-source and declarative endpoint management tools.
