The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time IT Application Analyst 1.
The IT Applications Analyst 1 works to ensure patient experience technology and platforms in the UHealth system are working efficiently and effectively. The analyst provides necessary experience and knowledge to support all aspects of application and system development, build and implementation. The IT Applications Analyst 1 - Healthcare analyzes, defines, and applies technical knowledge to solve complex problems regarding application systems. The incumbent works closely with team members, staff, and other personnel to gain and understand the objectives and requirements for the assigned systems. Is also responsible for trouble shooting problems and challenges within the information systems which may include software problems, hardware issues, interfaces, API integrations or even networking difficulties.
Core Responsibilities:
Provides support for designated applications systems. Augments and assists with the design, development, implementation of enhancements to existing systems.
Participates in the pre-implementation tasks, as assigned, such as system design, testing and training in order to gain a thorough knowledge of the technology-enabled workflows and the application features and functions.
Collects data from multiple sources to assist team with implementations, optimizations, testing, and system upgrades.
Provides day-to-day application support, completes service tickets, and participates in on call rotation.
Assists with troubleshooting issues with members of other teams or business units.
Assists with communication to assigned group regarding new features/functionality, new workflows, training system availability and downtime procedures.
Assists end users with system related issues, set up and maintenance as necessary for systems being used.
Assists in meeting scheduling and preparation.
Completes workflow and runbook support documentation.
Adheres to Service Level Agreements for incident management.
Adheres to UHealth IT standards.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions:
Lead the deployment and configuration of the patient infotainment platform across hospital and outpatient locations, ensuring seamless integration with Epic and other clinical systems.
Collaborate with clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and define workflows for patient access to health records and entertainment services during their stay.
Oversee system interfaces, security protocols, and data flows to ensure secure, reliable, and HIPAA-compliant operations between the infotainment platform and core health IT systems.
Troubleshoot incidents, manage support tickets, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues impacting platforms or integration points.
Customize and optimize the platform to meet evolving patient engagement goals, including design, user access management, and onboarding of new entertainment or information modules.
Develop and deliver training and support materials for end users and clinical staff to maximize adoption and effective use of deployed systems.
Maintain documentation of all system configurations, changes, and integrations per IT and regulatory standards.
Participate in future healthcare IT application deployments and projects, contributing analytical expertise to improve workflows, usability, and operational efficiency across the organization.
Stay abreast of emerging health IT solutions, interoperability standards, and Epic-related enhancements to recommend innovative improvements for patient experience and care delivery.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required

Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
