Job Description

Reporting to the Warehouse Coordinator, this role is responsible for controlling, monitoring and managing inventory levels to optimise service levels and minimise working capital while providing Inventory Management support to Site, ensuring the strategic management of Site inventories. This role is the conduit for inventory related matters between the Commercial, Warehouse, Maintenance and Corporate Inventory teams in driving the effective operational management and optimisation of site inventories.

Position goals

  • The Inventory Controller is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all site-based inventories to meet operational and commercial needs. This role ensures effective planning and execution of warehouse activities, delivering cost-effective inventory management and resource utilisation.

  • Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory records and master data, managing stock levels (including min/max settings), and ensuring compliance with the GCAA Procurement Framework. The Inventory Controller drives continuous improvement to reduce costs and achieve site-specific inventory targets.

  • As the primary link between Commercial, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Corporate Inventory teams, the role supports inventory rationalisation and optimisation. Reporting to the Warehouse Coordinator, the Inventory Controller champions standardised warehousing practices, manages costs, monitors KPIs, and implements effective techniques to deliver operational savings and sustainable improvements.

About the Role

  • Inventory Management - Maintain inventory accuracy by validating material criticality, managing scrap items, reviewing zero-stock materials, and supporting inventory enquiries.

  • Stock Replenishment – Manage stock replenishment by running MRP as needed, raising bulk material requisitions, and overseeing vendor-managed inventory sitewide

  • Data Management - Maintain data integrity by managing material master settings, MRP parameters, and storage locations; support projects and reporting; and provide NetStock training and inventory-related KPI insights.

  • Inventory Optimisation - Optimise inventory by managing the optimisation tool, reviewing recommended holdings, and implementing approved actions to maintain stock health.

  • Stakeholders & Strategic Relationships - Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships by coordinating inventory services, communicating process changes, and participating in planning and maintenance meetings.

  • Monday to Friday professional roster

  • Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)

About You

  • Significant experience in Supply and Warehousing

  • Tertiary qualifications in Logistics and Supply Chain or relevant discipline – highly regarded

  • SAP Warehouse Management Experience

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Advanced skill level using Excel

  • Nationally Accredited Forklift Ticket

  • Whilst not essential, the following would assist; experience with the use of inventory optimisation tools, Chain of Responsibility Certification, Dangerous Goods Certification

  • Ability to promote and maintain a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture

  • Influential ability with a range of key internal and external stakeholders

  • Extensive knowledge of procurement and inventory requirements in a large warehousing environment
