Job Description:  The Internship Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for students seeking internship opportunities and will assist them throughout the internship process. This position focuses on supporting students by helping them identify, apply for, and successfully complete internships that align with their academic and career goals. The Internship Coordinator will also foster and maintain strong relationships with employers to create and sustain quality internship experiences. Working collaboratively with the Director of the Center for Career Development and Experiential Learning, the Academic Lead for Internship Programs, and faculty Internship Coordinators, this role ensures that both students and employers are well-supported throughout the internship experience. 

Job Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Internship Coordinator will 

  • Assist students in identifying and securing internships that align with their academic programs and professional goals. 
  • Guide students through each stage of the internship process, including searching for positions, applying, interviewing, and completing required documentation. 
  • Provide individualized support and advice to students regarding professional communication, workplace expectations, and career development. 
  • Inform students of internship and experiential learning opportunities through workshops, classroom visits, presentations, and communication platforms. 
  • Conduct regular check-ins with students during their internships to ensure a positive and productive experience. 
  • Maintain open communication with employers to ensure that internship placements meet University expectations and provide educational value. 
  • Assist employers in navigating University policies and procedures for offering internships to UC students. 
  • Help build and sustain partnerships with employers and community organizations to expand available internship opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with faculty Internship Coordinators and the Academic Lead to ensure academic integration and compliance with internship program requirements. 
  • Track internship postings, student placements, and required documentation while maintaining accurate records. 
  • Support the planning and coordination of events that connect students and employers, such as networking sessions, on-campus recruiting visits, and information sessions. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
