Intern - TOC Engineer

About the Role:

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and disciplined individual to join our Technical Operations Center (TOC) team as an Intern TOC Engineer (Monitoring). This is an entry-level position for a fresher providing foundational experience in a mission-critical 24x7 support environment. The primary responsibility is to be the first line of defense, monitoring key systems, identifying anomalies, and ensuring prompt escalation.

Key Responsibilities
24x7 Monitoring: Actively monitor multiple internal and client-facing applications, infrastructure, and services using various enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Monolith, etc.).

Alert Triage & Initial Analysis: Acknowledge, categorize, and perform initial triage of all incoming alerts and incidents.

Incident Logging: Accurately log all events and incidents in the ticketing system (Jira), ensuring comprehensive details are captured for escalation.

Escalation Management: Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to escalate issues to the appropriate L2/L3 teams, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), or development teams within defined SLAs.

Documentation: Maintain and update runbooks and knowledge base articles related to monitoring procedures and common alerts.

Shift Handoffs: Clearly and concisely communicate all active issues, pending tasks, and recent activity during shift changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Fresh graduate (or final-year student) in a technical discipline (e.g., B.Tech, MCA, or equivalent).

Availability: Must be willing and able to work a flexible 24x7 shift rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Technical Aptitude: A strong interest in IT infrastructure, networking, and application support.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey technical issues.

Discipline: High level of discipline and attention to detail required for following strict operational procedures.

Preferred (But not required): Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix command line or network concepts (TCP/IP).
