Position Summary

The Intern Program Coordinator supports OSUWMC’s strategic workforce development initiatives by managing internship programs and fostering partnerships with educational institutions and workforce agencies. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Workforce Partnerships, this role helps build healthcare career pipelines through student engagement, program development, and strategic collaboration. The coordinator ensures operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement of internship and partnership programs.

This position will be heavily involved in workforce development priorities and initiatives with other public-private partnerships, in addition to planning the day-to-day onsite experiences at various OSUWMC/The James locations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the healthcare industry and workforce development trends.

  • Proven experience working directly with students on career exploration, professional development, or internship placement strongly preferred.

  • Proven adaptability and creativity in building programs or processes from conception to implementation and success, strongly preferred.

  • Must have access to reliable transportation to attend on-site meetings and events, including some local travel.

  • Must be available to participate in evening and weekend events as needed to effectively perform the position.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.

  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple work streams at once.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to follow and help refine processes and workflows to improve efficiency.

  • Comfortable supporting the rollout of new initiatives and tracking progress against goals.

  • Innovative mindset with demonstrated ability to formulate new programs and partnerships that benefit the enterprise and the community.

  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and evolving business needs.

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability in supporting team success.

  • Advanced experience utilizing Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
