Confirms insurance coverage and procedure details; determines the need for pre-authorization and obtains required authorizations for scheduled procedures.
Enters patient insurance, authorization, and order/RX information into the patient record, documenting insurance coverage for all services to be provided.
Notifies patients and payers of financial responsibility for services and communicates any non-covered or non-authorized services to both patients and practitioners.
Works closely with patients, practitioners, and payers to address financial responsibility, coverage limitations, and financial clearance issues.
Demonstrates knowledge of payer policies, coverage guidelines, and authorization processes to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.
