A Brief Overview
Responsible for writing and developing printed and web-based training for clinical staff, professional development courses, and other organizational initiatives. Accountable for coordinating with leaders and staff in organizational areas as needed to develop and implement educational initiatives that best meet the needs of multiple audiences. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do

  • Assists in the planning and scheduling of the design and development of courses, assuring course design meets accessibility and established standards, and collaborating with subject matter experts on updates, revisions, and maintenance.
  • Coordinates production schedules and scope with the Manager of Organizational & Talent Development to ensure timely delivery of course material.
  • Works in collaboration with subject-matter experts to align content to learning objectives, create instructionally sound and engaging learning opportunities, and develop quality assessment tools.
  • Conducts course reviews and consultations with responsible parties in accordance with established standards.
  • Works closely with Learning Management System vendor to ensure successful course delivery and satisfactory associate experience each year.
  • Creates processes and user end documentation for best practices for building courseware, using in-house products, and online services and appraises course creation quality.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers and other stakeholders to create interactive, learning scenarios based on learning theories and develop rich and relevant courses that include digital media content.
  • Helps SMEs integrate technology into their face-to-face, online, hybrid and blended courses and work with SMEs to create criteria used to develop assessment instruments.
  • Acts as an internal consultant and a source of expertise to internal staff or external entities that have a relationship with the organization.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Communications
  • Bachelor's Degree Instructional Design
  • Bachelor's Degree Technical Design
  • Master's Degree

Experience Qualifications

  • 1-3 years Software relevant to the online learning environment, developing and maintaining an online learning platform
  • Learning management systems

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to write clearly and concisely for multiple audiences at different education levels for both print and online delivery.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Working knowledge of instructional design and/or instructional technology within an educational or corporate environment.
  • Expert knowledge of video and audio editing software like Camtasia and Articulate.
  • Demonstrates understanding of instructional technology, including use of HTML and JavaScript.
  • Ability to create and manipulate graphics in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent graphics editor.
  • Demonstrates capacity to receive and incorporate feedback from subject matter experts.
  • Ability to work with existing document templates and format documents appropriately.
  • Capacity to learn clinical terminology, concepts, and documentation.
  • Ability to adapt existing content for different clinical roles and scopes.

  • There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.

Physical Demands

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
