Inside/Outside Cable Plant Technician III (Lead) CLC 29a

Our work depends on an I/O Cable Plant Tech III joining our team to apply lead level “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting of communications systems
HOW A TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
     ● Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.      
     ● Determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes including call switches, test trunks and test links; installs communication circuits.
     ● Responds to emergency calls in the event of a system failure.
     ● Provides reports, completes requests for new service, and determines methodology for installing telephone service or other telecommunication technology.
     ● Verifies services by testing circuits/equipment/alarms and identifying/correcting/escalating problems.
     ● Installs, removes, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs telecommunication equipment . This includes running, pulling, terminating, & splicing cables; installing routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
     ● Education: Associates of Arts/Associates of Science
     ● Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience; lead level “hands on” experience in maintenance/troubleshooting of Motorola & other Land Mobile Radio Equipment as specified in the task order.
     ● Required Technical Skills:
• Communications consoles     • Site controllers     • Repeaters     • Digital recording equipment
• XTS-5000 and other various hand held radios     • Trunked and non-trunked LMR systems
• Key loaders, antennas, multi-couplers, duplexers     • Over the air keying equipment (Key management facility)
• Test equipment such as, service monitors/ communication system analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, power meters, spectrum analyzer 
Must be qualified to install LMR base stations, repeaters and mobile radios. Must have LMR shop operations and management experience in a large-scale LMR shop and be familiar with equipment tracking databases.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $33.30 - $34.70. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
