Maersk is on a mission to simplify global logistics and build the world’s most integrated end-to-end supply chain. As part of this journey, the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of Maersk’s core business enabling platforms that enable global trade.
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (JL3) to join our SRE capabilities. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and operations, automating cloud systems, improving observability, and ensuring business-critical platforms perform seamlessly for customers around the world.
This is a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on Maersk’s digital transformation — supporting applications that drive planning, booking, customer experience, and operational visibility across our logistics ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
Build and operate reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-based systems that support Maersk’s digital logistics platforms.
Develop automation using Python, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual intervention and operational toil.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive engineering to improve service resilience.
Collaborate with platform and product teams to define SLIs, SLOs, and ensure continuous service improvement.
Implement monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK for proactive issue detection.
Work with AWS / Azure / GCP services, applying cloud-native best practices for scalability and cost efficiency.
Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and automation of playbooks to support standardization and reliability.
What We’re Looking For
5–7 years of experience in SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles.
Strong programming skills in Python for scripting and automation.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms and their core services.
Hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible).
Understanding monitoring, logging, and alerting systems and how to tune them for reliability.
Experience supporting large-scale distributed systems in production.
A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with passion for operational excellence and continuous learning.
Good to Have
Experience in database administration or support (Oracle DBA, PostgreSQL, or equivalent).
Understanding of cost optimization and reliability engineering principles.
Exposure to AI/ML automation or self-healing systems.
Strong collaboration and communication skills in global engineering environments.
Why This Role Matters
As part of Maersk’s Business Enabling Platform, the SRE team ensures that the foundational digital platforms powering Maersk’s global logistics ecosystem remain reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient. These platforms enable critical business functions — from customer interactions and order processing to integration and analytics — ensuring that Maersk’s operations run seamlessly across the world.
Your work will directly support business continuity, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction, enabling Maersk to deliver on its promise of a connected, sustainable, and technology-driven supply chain.
What You’ll Gain
Hands-on experience operating and automating systems at global enterprise scale.
Opportunities to work with cutting-edge cloud-native and observability technologies.
Mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to large-scale reliability engineering practices.
A pathway to progress into senior SRE roles and shape Maersk’s future digital operations.
