Infrastructure Engineer (SRE)

As part of this journey, the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of Maersk’s core business enabling platforms that enable global trade. 
 
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (JL3) to join our SRE capabilities. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and operations, automating cloud systems, improving observability, and ensuring business-critical platforms perform seamlessly for customers around the world. 
 
This is a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on Maersk’s digital transformation — supporting applications that drive planning, booking, customer experience, and operational visibility across our logistics ecosystem. 

What You’ll Do 

• Build and operate reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-based systems that support Maersk’s digital logistics platforms. 

• Develop automation using Python, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual intervention and operational toil. 

• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive engineering to improve service resilience. 

• Collaborate with platform and product teams to define SLIs, SLOs, and ensure continuous service improvement. 

• Implement monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK for proactive issue detection. 

• Work with AWS / Azure / GCP services, applying cloud-native best practices for scalability and cost efficiency. 

• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and automation of playbooks to support standardization and reliability. 

What We’re Looking For 

• 5–7 years of experience in SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles. 

• Strong programming skills in Python for scripting and automation. 

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms and their core services. 

• Hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible). 

• Understanding monitoring, logging, and alerting systems and how to tune them for reliability. 

• Experience supporting large-scale distributed systems in production. 

• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with passion for operational excellence and continuous learning. 

Good to Have 

• Experience in database administration or support (Oracle DBA, PostgreSQL, or equivalent). 

• Understanding of cost optimization and reliability engineering principles. 

• Exposure to AI/ML automation or self-healing systems. 

• Strong collaboration and communication skills in global engineering environments.
