Your key responsibilities
- Drive enterprise-level data governance strategy, aligning Microsoft Purview capabilities with global compliance, information security, and operational risk objectives.
- Lead end-to-end design, engineering, and assurance for data classification, labeling, and protection frameworks across hybrid and multi-cloud ecosystems.
- Provide strategic oversight for the integration of Purview with Microsoft 365, Azure, and other enterprise platforms to enable scalable and compliant data protection.
- Champion automation and operational excellence by leveraging PowerShell, Python, and Azure Logic Apps to enhance control efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Act as a trusted advisor to data, security, and compliance stakeholders, translating complex governance controls into actionable risk mitigation and business enablement outcomes.
- Establish metrics and governance dashboards for continuous visibility into data scanning coverage, policy effectiveness, and control health.
- Represent the function in audits, regulatory reviews, and internal governance committees, ensuring alignment with internal controls and international standards (e.g., GDPR, SOX, Basel III).
- Mentor and guide technical teams, promoting a learning culture and continuous improvement mindset across the security engineering community.
- Collaborate globally with Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, and Architecture leaders to shape strategic roadmaps for data protection and regulatory compliance.
Your skills and experience
- Proven experience (8–12 years) in Information Security, Data Governance, or Cloud Compliance, ideally within financial services or other regulated sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership in engineering and deploying Microsoft Purview or equivalent data protection platforms at enterprise scale.
- Expertise in data governance, information protection, and automation within Microsoft and Azure ecosystems.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Azure Logic Apps) for compliance orchestration.
- Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks (GDPR, SOX, Basel III) and their technical implementation requirements.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts in business terms.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities with a focus on sustainable risk reduction and innovation.
- Preferred Certifications:
- CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
- CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
