- We are seeking an accomplished Information Security Specialist (Assistant Vice President) to lead engineering, configuration, and assurance activities for Microsoft Purview, the enterprise data governance and protection platform.
- In this high-impact role, you will design and implement advanced security controls, strengthen the bank’s data protection posture, and ensure compliance with global regulatory frameworks.
- You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams across cybersecurity, compliance, architecture, and risk management to deliver a secure, resilient, and compliant data governance environment.

Your key responsibilities
- Engineer and configure Microsoft Purview to establish enterprise-grade data governance, classification, labeling, and sensitivity policies.
- Design and implement scalable integration patterns to align Purview with existing cloud, data, and security platforms across the enterprise.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing frameworks (unit, integration, and regression) to ensure configuration reliability, compliance, and data protection accuracy.
- Automate data governance workflows using PowerShell, Python, and Azure Logic Apps, driving operational efficiency and consistency.
- Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize data classification, policy enforcement, and scanning coverage across structured and unstructured data sources.
- Collaborate with data architects, compliance officers, and information security teams to align governance capabilities with regulatory and risk management objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving Purview scanning, misconfigurations, or policy enforcement gaps across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Support audit, risk, and compliance activities through accurate dashboarding, lineage reporting, and control validation using Purview insights.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation of configurations, workflows, and governance models to ensure audit readiness and operational transparency.
- Champion continuous improvement and knowledge sharing by conducting internal training, sharing best practices, and mentoring technical teams.
Your skills and experience
- Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Purview deployment, configuration, and policy management within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in data governance, information protection, and compliance automation using Microsoft and Azure ecosystems.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Azure Logic Apps) to enable scalable data protection workflows.
- Deep understanding of data security, cloud governance, and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, SOX, and Basel III.
- Experience integrating Purview with Azure, Microsoft 365, and other data management platforms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to address governance, classification, and compliance-related challenges.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business discussions.
- Experience Range: 5–10 years in data governance, information security engineering, or cloud compliance, preferably within financial services or other highly regulated sectors.
- Preferred Certifications:
- CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
- CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
