JOB SUMMARY:

The Industrial Program Services General Foreman is responsible for providing front-line leadership and supervision to field crews engaged in conveyor belt installations, rubber repair, and related process maintenance activities for mining, oil & gas, and heavy industrial clients. This role ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and client expectations. The General Foreman supports the Industrial Program Services Superintendent by coordinating daily work activities, mentoring tradespeople, and maintaining a strong focus on quality, productivity, and safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise and coordinate crews performing conveyor belt installation, splicing, rubber lining, and repair services.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with project plans, safety requirements, and client specifications.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance to crew members.
  • Support the Superintendent in implementing schedules, managing resources, and meeting project deadlines.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in proper working conditions to minimize downtime.
  • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Mentor and train team members in safe work practices, technical skills, and company procedures.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to conveyor belt systems and process maintenance.
  • Report on daily progress, workforce performance, and job site conditions to the Industrial Program Superintendent.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive safety culture on all job sites.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and Brice company policies.
  • Work as a “team player” with co-workers in a respectful and supportive manner.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Seek and participate in development and training opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

This position may supervise field maintenance staff with the direction and support of the Industrial Program Superintendent.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge of the industrial, mining, and oil & gas construction industries and demonstrated ability to read and interpret contracts, proposals, and other related documents.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers and team-members in a professional manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective team relationships.
  • Ability to explain complex industrial systems in clear terms and offer clear and direct instruction to customers and crew working under supervision.
  • Ability to have an analytical approach to diagnosing issues and providing recommended solutions.
  • Ability to understand client challenges and provide tailored solutions.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, customer needs, and market demands.
  • Skilled in identifying, pursuing, and closing new business development opportunities.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of conveyor systems, belt splicing, rubber repair, and associated maintenance practices.
  • Proven ability to lead crews, manage daily operations, and deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently.
  • Commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivation and ability to be independent and proactive in pursuing goals in a remove environment with limited oversight.
  • Ability to do business ethically with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

  • Ability to travel for work-related purposes (up to 60% of the time).

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five (5) plus years of industrial maintenance experience, with a focus on conveyor belt systems, rubber repair, or process maintenance required.
  • Relevant trade certification or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory and/or lead hand experience in mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments required.
  • Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screening.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Brice Equipment has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. This is a site-based role requiring regular presence at client facilities in mining, oil & gas, or industrial settings both indoor and outdoor at times. The position may require extended shifts, weekend work, rotational schedules, and travel depending on project scope and location. This position will be exposed to heavy industrial environments with strict adherence to safety standards. Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes, and occasional overtime for immediate field support or bid processing may be necessary.
