Your Opportunity:

The HR Manager II provides HR consulting and advice to individuals within The Toro Company’s Ditch Witch Division.  The HR Manager II provides human resources support to employees and supervisors within The Toro Company’s Perry manufacturing facility, a site of approximately 1,200 employees.  They partner with leaders on talent strategies including organizational design, succession and talent planning, leadership development, conflict management and change management. Works with others to develop people-related strategies in alignment with enterprise strategic priorities with a focus on attracting, developing and retaining a high-performing and diverse team. Partners with centers of expertise on talent strategies and practices.

Work Location / Environments: 

  • This opportunity is 5 shifts on-site at the Ditch Witch® division headquarters in Perry, OK.   (Fully Remote, Hybrid, or other work locations/offices are not available at this time).

  • Typical workdays of 8 hours a day, Monday-Friday, along with overtime on very little notice.  Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support.

  • Office setting within a manufacturing facility; frequent interaction with production employees and supervisors.

  • Travel expectation: Minimal travel required; periodic travel may be necessary on as-needed basis. Must be willing to obtain/maintain an active, valid, non-expired US Driver's license.

  • Regular continuous use of a personal computer and telephone.

What Will You Do? 

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: 

  • Partner with leaders on strategic planning and annual planning processes with a focus on people priorities; determine talent implications of planning process.

  • Partner with leaders on talent planning process and subsequent talent development strategies.

  • Collaborate with leaders on improving organizational effectiveness through analysis of organizational structure and alternatives.

  • Partner with centers of expertise to support talent acquisition, rewards, recognition, and development.

  • Champion and role model a culture of inclusion and lead efforts and initiatives within business or function and as a part of the HR team to advance The Toro Company’s progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Advise managers and employees on talent processes, such as goal setting, performance review and merit planning.

  • Provide advisory and consultative services on people-related issues.

  • Provide coaching to managers on their own development, as well as guidance on employee relations issues, resolving conflicts, coaching techniques, and investigations.

  • Leverage people data within global HCM (Workday) to provide actionable insights for talent strategies.

  • Lead change management strategies and initiatives.

  • Respond to and address general HR needs.

What Do You Need? 

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • A minimum of five years of progressive Human Resources experience, as a minimum.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, coach, facilitate, inspire, influence, and motivate while gaining buy-in and driving results at all levels of the organization.   Exceptional communication/ people skills, including strong presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Must be able to exercise and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to be a change agent and influence teams to shift quickly as our business evolves.

  • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects/ priorities, while delivering results.

  • Passion for developing talent at all levels.

  • Knowledge of relevant human resources-related laws and regulations and the ability to conduct or assist with investigations, maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.

  • Exceptional communication/ people skills, including strong presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Energetic, driven and enthusiastic, and able to cultivate a fast-paced, change-oriented workplace. 

  • Consistently exhibits collaborative leadership qualities, able to solicit advice from colleagues and partners while still being able to take charge, show initiative and make decisions.

  • Strong analytical skills, yet forward thinking, able identify creative solutions to complex business problems.

  • A big picture thinker who is comfortable with details but disciplined enough to maintain objectivity and delegate effectively.

  • Strong business acumen coupled with an ability to translate business strategy into practical application while maintaining standards of high touch.

  • An eye for detail and a commitment to consistency and excellence coupled with a resourceful and problem-solving disposition.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Masters degree is preferred, but not required. 

  • HRIS experience; Workday system is preferred, but not required.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing preferred.

  • A greater than five years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferred.

  • Competitive Salary A reasonable pay range for this opportunity is $90,000 - $130,000.  The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
