Housekeeper (FT- 1.0 FTE, Day Shift)

Position Summary: 

Provides routine cleaning and disinfection services throughout the facility with primary focus on patient rooms, office, and general areas. Follows established procedures to support infection prevention, patient experience, and a safe environment of care.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months of cleaning, hospitality, or healthcare support experience.
  • Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) credential.

Essential Job Functions:  In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Perform daily and discharge cleaning of patient rooms, restrooms, and assigned areas following defined sequence, times, and high-touch surface protocols.
  • Safely prepare, use, and store cleaning chemicals and equipment; follow PPE and label/SDS guidance.
  • Handle regulated medical waste, sharps containers, and linen according to policy.
  • Replenish supplies (e.g., linens, paper goods) and report par levels and equipment needs.
  • Maintain equipment (carts, mops, vacuums, microfiber) in clean/working order.
  • Document completed tasks in logs or EVS software; escalate maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Practice excellent customer service; respond to room requests and service calls in a timely, professional manner.
  • Adhere to hand hygiene, standard precautions, and safety policies at all times.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing EVS training and competency checks.

Schedule Requirements

  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
