The Position

Join us to Shape the Commercial Future of Roche Pharma Switzerland

We are looking for a visionary commercial leader to step in as Head of Portfolio Commercialisation in Basel. You will report directly to the General Manager of Roche Pharma Switzerland, the Swiss national subsidiary of the Pharmaceutical division of Roche, and serve as a critical "Voice of the Business" within our Leadership Team. Your core objective: to maximize the value of our innovative portfolio and boldly advance our commercial excellence in the Swiss market together with the second Head of Portfolio Commercialisation.

Your Impact: What You Will Drive

  • Market Leadership: You will proactively assess long-term market shifts, from payment structures to portfolio changes, and translate those insights into decisive strategic actions for the affiliate.

  • Strategic & P&L Ownership: You will take full strategic and P&L ownership for two key Therapeutic Areas (TAs), ensuring your strategies align with overarching objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Excellence: Together with the second Head of Portfolio Commercialisation, you will manage resource allocation across all TAs, collaborating closely with internal leaders to ensure our resources are prioritized for maximum portfolio delivery.

  • Commercial Excellence: You will be the engine to advance our commercial excellence, leading two Commercial Chapters that report to you. You will actively drive the embedding of advanced digital solutions and champion a data-driven culture to anticipate market trends and secure future growth.

  • External Focus: You will embed an external-focused mindset by actively engaging with customers and other key healthcare stakeholders. You will strengthen relationships with our customers and gather frontline intelligence, using it to proactively build resilient, market-driven commercial plans.

  • Global-to-Local Power: You will be the key link to our internal partners at Global Pharma Strategy (GPS), Pharma International (PI) amongst others, expertly adapting global strategies to win in the Swiss market.

  • Impact-Oriented Leadership: You will build, coach, and empower a high-performing, agile team, maximizing the potential of every member and fostering a culture of excellence.

  • A Culture of Integrity: You will role-model the highest standards of compliance, ethics, and safety, ensuring the patient is at the center of every action.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Essential Foundations: An advanced university degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field (e.g., Natural Sciences, Medical, Business, or Economics) and fluency in both German and English (written and spoken). French is a distinct advantage.

  • Commercial Acumen: A proven track record (typically 10+ years) of commercial success, product launches, and customer engagement, especially in highly competitive or evolving markets.

  • Swiss Market Insight: A deep understanding of the Swiss healthcare system and its key stakeholders. An existing strong network is an advantage.

  • Inspirational Leadership: Significant experience in strategic leadership roles. You don't just manage teams; you motivate, coach, and develop diverse, cross-functional talent to achieve outstanding results.

  • Domain Expertise: In-depth knowledge of product life-cycles (e.g. market strategy, market dynamics, and competitive landscape) and clinical trials in at least one of our core TAs: Neurology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, or Rare Diseases.

  • Resilience & Drive: A proactive, business-driven, and solution-oriented mindset. You navigate market challenges, cost pressure, and organizational complexity with tenacity and a "can-do" attitude.
