Your role

Step into a broad leadership role at the heart of Saab Kockums digital transformation. As Head of IT, Methods and Tools, you will drive strategic IT initiatives, build IT capabilities to support business growth, and help shape how technology supports Saab’s mission in a rapidly evolving defense and security landscape.

You will lead one of the company's most important support functions, IT Methods and Tools (IM&T), and be part of Saab Kockums Operational Excellence Leadership Team.

Kockums is undergoing a major change journey, especially within IT, where you will lead transformation leveraging Cloud and AI capabilities to enable business growth. We are part of Saab’s journey towards modernized infrastructure and workplace services where you and your team will collaborate close with Group IT functions to secure success. IM&T has a delivery responsibility to the business as we are responsible for the company's unique applications used to develop and produce naval products such as submarines, surface ships, combat vessels and underwater weaponry. 

You will be responsible for a larger team of people working from both Lund, Karlskrona and Linköping and the role requires frequent travelling between these sites. Place of employment is Lund or Karlskrona.

The main tasks are:

• Responsible for the company's IT Strategy and IT Operations including full IT budget responsibility for the company
• Improve process efficiency through efficient methods and tools
• Chairman of the Business Area IT Council and Saab Kockums representative in Saab’s IT Council
• Be a part of Saab's IT through collaboration in strategic programs, set requirements and follow execution
• Line manager for your team including recruiting, performance and salary reviews etc.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who wants to lead change and is always looking for the best solutions for the Company. In order to be successful in this role you need to have a strong interest in people and leadership, as well as an ability to get people and organizations on board. Great communication skills, strong execution and a finetuned balance of collaboration and compromising when needed is key. We also believe you have excellent skills in analyzing information and problem solving.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Academic degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years of IT management experience, including several years of leading people and organizations
• Proven experience from digital transformation and large-scale IT programs e.g. transformation of ERP, CRM and PLM systems ideally into Cloud environments
• Deep knowledge in IT Strategy execution, IT Operations and IT Budgeting, experience from IT management through pm3 is considered an asset
• Experience from leading IT in complex organizations, experience from Naval/Shipyard domain or defense industry with global manufacturing is desired
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes
• Fluency in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken
• Driving license B

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
