Accountabilities:
Strategy and Stewardship: Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to define and evolve the global Data & AI Regulatory Intelligence strategy, setting measurable targets aligned with AstraZeneca’s values and business priorities.
Horizon Scanning and Impact Assessment: Establish timely monitoring of global regulatory developments, supporting business-specific impact assessments and guiding senior decision-making.
Regulatory Translation to Controls: Convert regulatory obligations into practical enterprise standards, procedures, and control requirements, ensuring traceability from regulation to evidence.
Operating Model and Capability Build: Lead a high-performing team of Regulatory Intelligence experts, continuously improving processes, tooling, and reporting.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Provide insights and guidance to various departments, enabling informed decision-making and readiness for regulatory change.
Governance and Assurance: Prepare senior leadership with clear positions, risk analyses, control recommendations, and readiness metrics.
Policy and Standards Lifecycle: Enhance AstraZeneca Standards for Data & AI, driving adoption across functions and markets.
Education and Culture: Partner with Compliance to create guidance and training that build data/AI regulatory literacy.
External Engagement: Benchmark with industry bodies, gather insights, and shape external discussions.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Deep knowledge of Data & AI regulatory landscapes across major jurisdictions.
- Experience in biopharma, medtech, healthcare technology, or other highly regulated industries.
- Proven ability to translate regulatory obligations into policies, standards, procedures, and controls.
- Demonstrated experience building and leading regulatory intelligence or policy teams.
- Strong stakeholder management with Legal, Compliance, Security, Privacy, Procurement, and Risk & Assurance.
- Familiarity with data governance, third-party risk, and assurance practices in large corporations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of leading end-to-end regulatory assessments.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Participation in industry consortia or standards bodies related to AI, data, or digital health.
- Understanding of pharmacovigilance, clinical, manufacturing, and commercial data contexts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Policy, Data/Information Management or related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in privacy/security/risk are advantageous.
