Role Purpose
Are you a content dynamo with a passion for storytelling and a knack for strategy? As our Content lead, you’ll be the driving force behind TalkTalk’s content revolution—creating, curating, and amplifying stories and campaigns that make us irresistible to new and existing customers alike. You’ll work hand-in-hand with social, SEO, and visual creator colleagues to ensure our brand shines everywhere we show up.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the creation and execution of a bold and creative content strategy that boosts TalkTalk’s presence and appeal across our website and digital platforms as well as third parties
Plan, create, and commission a diverse range of content—including blogs, articles, videos, infographics, guides, and customer stories—that brings our brand to life and speaks to both potential and current customers.
Own and manage the content calendar, ensuring a steady stream of fresh, relevant, and on-brand material across all channels.
Collaborate closely with social, SEO/PPC, creative and Corporate Communications colleagues to ensure all content is discoverable, shareable, visually engaging, aligned with our brand voice, optimised for search, and supports our acquisition goals
Use analytics and insights to identify content gaps, spot trends, and optimise performance—always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our audiences.
Champion TalkTalk’s tone of voice, ensuring every piece of content feels uniquely “us” and is consistent across all touchpoints.
Collaborate with Product, Commercial, and Customer teams to turn business priorities and product launches into compelling content campaigns.
Monitor content performance, using data to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate ROI.
Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging content formats, bringing fresh ideas to the table.
Deputise for the Head of Brand & Digital Marketing as appropriate
Be a brand ambassador, always looking for new ways to tell our story and engage our community.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the power of content marketing and digital storytelling to aid brand building
Familiarity with SEO, social media, and visual content best practices.
Awareness of the telecoms, utilities, or other consumer-facing sectors is a plus.
Skills:
Exceptional writing, editing, and creative briefing skills – just at home writing as strategising, and the ability to switch between both.
Strategic thinker with a flair for big ideas and the detail to deliver them.
Strong project management and organisational skills—able to juggle multiple campaigns and deadlines.
Confident collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Comfortable using analytics tools to measure and optimise content performance.
Able to inspire and lead creative contributors.
Experience:
Proven experience in content marketing, journalism, or digital communications.
Track record of delivering successful content campaigns that drive engagement and business results.
Experience working with SEO, social, and creative teams.
Experience managing content calendars and editorial workflows.
