Established in 1981, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) https://www.ntu.edu.sg/eee is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the School is renowned for its high academic standards and research. It is one of the largest EEE schools in the world, with more than 130 faculty members and an enrolment of more than 4,000, of which about 1,000 are graduate students.
We invite applications for the position of Head, Faculty Affairs. Reporting to the Chair of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), the incumbent will work closely with Associate Chairs, functional leads, and colleagues at both School and College levels to oversee daily operations and support selected strategic initiatives. The incumbent will also ensure the smooth running of the school’s business and academic support functions, while also contributing to longer-term improvements that strengthen EEE’s ability to serve its students, faculty, and research community.
We are seeking a proactive and strategic leader to oversee Faculty Affairs for the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). The role will manage faculty recruitment, appointments, promotions, and onboarding, drive faculty engagement and development initiatives, and coordinate space and infrastructure allocation. Acting as the key liaison between faculty, school leadership, and central administration, the role ensures fair, timely, and policy-compliant processes while fostering a collaborative and high-performing academic environment.
Key Responsibilities but are not limited to:
Develop and implement faculty recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent such as Nanyang Assistant Professors(NAPs) to EEE.
Collaborate with school leadership and HR teams to streamline hiring processes and ensure compliance with university policies.
Establish faculty onboarding programs to integrate new hires into the EEE community effectively.
Oversee faculty lifecycle such as appointment, promotion, and tenure processes in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Drive initiatives to foster a collaborative and inclusive faculty culture within EEE.
Oversee the allocation and optimization of faculty office spaces and research facilities across EEE.
Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty affairs-related queries from the Chair and other senior leadership.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above in a STEM-related field (e.g., Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or other relevant disciplines.
Minimum of three to five years of working experience in the higher education institutions.
Relevant experience in faculty affairs, academic administration, or human resources within a higher education institution is preferred.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management and engagement skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in faculty recruitment, engagement, and space planning is highly desirable.
