The Global Medical Director, Gastroenterology will report to the Senior Medical Director, Velsipity Team Lead. The Director is an integral member of the Global Medical Gastroenterology community. The Global Medical Director, Gastroenterology will serve as an expert in the IBD field and lead execution of evidence and insight generation, interpretation and dissemination activities for the safe and effective use of etrasimod and Xeljanz UC. The Global Medical Director, Gastroenterology will lead with integrity and be a role model for medical professionalism and scientific excellence.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

The Global Medical Director, Gastroenterology will partner cross-functionally with medical teams, health and value functions, clinical development, legal, compliance and commercial teams to execute activities supporting Gastroenterology products. The Global Medical Director, Gastroenterology will collaborate directly with country medical teams to understand major unmet medical needs and medical environment including HCP and patient perspective, regulatory and access dynamics at the country level and integrate needs and insights to co-create a global medical plan.

HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT

  • Demonstrate deep data and disease area expertise for etrasimod/Xeljanz and Gastroenterology, respectively.

  • Ensure evidence generation and dissemination strategies and plans are developed and executed in alignment with the Scientific Narratives.

  • Lead above brand activities in the IBD space.

  • Lead insight generation activities including advisory board meetings.

  • Support or lead evidence generation activities including independent research, clinical and research collaborations, and Pfizer non-interventional and interventional studies including post-hoc data generation.

  • Lead internal data interpretation and alignment activities.

  • Lead evidence dissemination and education activities including scientific publications and scientific exchange.

  • Lead development and execution of internal medical training curriculum in collaboration with the Medical Affairs platform groups.

  • Manage internal Medical Affairs communication platform including GMIC notifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must-Have

  • BA/BS with 8+ years of experience.

  • Subject matter expertise and experience in specific therapeutic area (Gastroenterology), especially clinical / patient care experience, is required.

  • Cross functional effectiveness.

  • Leading effectively in a matrix.

  • Experience in Medical Affairs required.

Nice-to-Have

  • MBA/MS with 7+ years of experience; OR PhD/JD with 5+ years of experience.

  • MD/DVM with 4+ years of experience.

  • Launch experience a plus.

  • International experience a plus.

  • Regulatory and/or clinical development experience a plus.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Some travel required to support congress activities and/or attend internal meetings (~20%), including US and ex-US locations.
