Global Institute Communications Manager

We are seeking a Global Institute Communications Manager to lead the implementation of GI’s communications strategy - managing platforms such as the website, newsletter, resource portal, and social media - and ensuring high-quality content that strengthens storytelling, visibility, and engagement.

The Global Institute Communications Manager will amplify GI’s presence, identity, and narrative through social media, digital platforms, newsletters, and thought-leadership initiatives.

This role suits a strong communicator and project manager who thrives in start-up environments, enjoys content creation, and brings clarity, creativity, and cohesion to complex ideas.

About the Team 

Reporting to the Global Strategy & Operations Lead and working closely with the Director of the Global Institute, this is a newly created role. You will collaborate extensively with Teach For All’s global Communications team and product managers to ensure brand and message alignment while building communications systems that meet GI’s evolving needs.

This is a unique opportunity to shape communications for a new global initiative. The GI exists to spark learning, connection, and leadership—and your work will help bring that mission to life through strategic, creative storytelling.

Key Responsibilities :

Platform and Channel Management (30%)

Website & Resource Portal (The Better Future Hub)

  • Oversee content management workflows: track, coordinate, and follow up with contributors across GI teams and partners
  • Work with product managers to translate development needs from GI teams into actions for the tech team and ensure smooth implementation
  • Collaborate with Teach For All’s Communications team on placement & sharing of relevant content across channels
  • Ensure timely uploading, updating, and quality control of all published content
  • Ensure user-friendly and high-quality resources are consistently maintained and aligned with the Global Institute's evolving communications goals across both platforms

Newsletter & LinkedIn

  • Own the end-to-end development of a regular GI newsletter: collate inputs from content teams, draft and edit content, coordinate design, and manage distribution
  • Develop and manage a LinkedIn content calendar for the Global Institute, coordinating with GI teams and Teach For All’s Communications team to ensure consistent, high-quality posting
  • Create and adapt content (e.g., summaries, visuals, graphics, campaign highlights) for LinkedIn and other key channels to enhance GI’s visibility

Others

  • Support communications for strategic campaigns and events, including the Better Future Conversations series
  • Explore/support additional channels in future

Editorial Oversight and Quality Control (30%)

  • Identify storytelling opportunities across GI workstreams, projects, and communities
  • Work closely with the GI content team to review, edit, and quality-check resources before publication
  • Ensure GI content across platforms (resource portal, newsletters, reports, campaigns) meets high editorial standards for clarity, accessibility, tone, and visual coherence
  • Support the creation of compelling marketing materials for partners, funders, and the broader ecosystem in alignment with brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with the Teach For All communications team to develop Global Institute’s messaging while ensuring alignment with Teach For All’s overall brand and messaging.
  • Package and adapt content into audience-appropriate formats (e.g., briefs, summaries, slide decks, social-ready formats)

Lead Communications Implementation (30%)

  • Develop and manage the execution of the GI’s communications roadmap—including digital presence, brand positioning, newsletters, and storytelling campaigns
  • Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and visual identity across GI materials and channels, while contributing to the evolution of GI’s narrative and style, at the same time ensuring alignment and consistency with Teach For All
  • Establish communications tools, templates, and systems to support scalable workflows and aligned content production

Feedback, Insights & Improvement (10%)

  • Track engagement and performance across GI communications platforms in coordination with the product manager
  • Establish light-touch measurement and evaluation practices to gather feedback and inform content, design, and messaging decisions
  • Generate briefs, slides, or synthesis documents for use by the Director, GI team, or broader network

Qualifications

  • 4-5+ years of experience in communications, content strategy, or digital project management, preferably in a global, education, nonprofit, or thought leadership setting
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the flexibility to work with ambiguity and resource constraints; Experience within a startup environment is a plus
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills—able to communicate ideas clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences
  • Deep understanding of the current and evolving social media landscape, and experience leading or contributing to an organization’s social media presence
  • Good understanding of websites or communications platforms, as well as basic UX, CMS tools, and content workflows
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects and stakeholders across time zones
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultures
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to operate in a dynamic, evolving, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Familiarity with visual branding principles and communications measurement tools is a plus

Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and dependent on country of hire and prior work experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Travel and Hours

All work is delivered virtually. Given that we work across different time zones, some non-traditional hours for early or later calls are an expectation of this role.
