As Global Brand & Claim Manager for Active Ingredients, you will be responsible for managing selected cosmetic brands within our Active Ingredient product line. Your mission is to shift part of the business focus toward developing tailor-made offerings for major global brands, leveraging Evonik’s unique strengths in active ingredients, delivery technologies, and formulation expertise.

You will also lead one major innovation territory—Longevity—with the goal of becoming a global expert in this field. This includes defining a clear innovation and claim strategy, and developing compelling marketing concepts.

Key responsibilites

  • Analyze the DNA and strategy of major cosmetic brands, especially in the area of longevity.
  • Develop brand-specific offerings in collaboration with Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Applied Innovation.
  • Act as the brand “owner” throughout its lifecycle, ensuring timely recommendations for active ingredient proposals and upgrade opportunities.
  • Become the internal expert for the longevity territory within the global product line.
  • Collaborate closely with the Valorization Manager for Longevity at the Evonik Skin Institute.
  • Define the mid- and long-term innovation roadmap and claim strategy for longevity.
  • Identify short-term opportunities to enhance existing products with longevity-related claims.
  • Develop marketing concepts that effectively communicate the value of longevity innovations.
  • Work closely with global marketing teams to ensure alignment and impactful execution.

What you bring

  • University degree: Bachelor's or Master's in cosmetics, chemistry, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience across relevant environments (including B2C)
  • Proven experience in brand management, product marketing, or innovation strategy within the cosmetics or personal care industry.
  • Strong understanding of cosmetic science, active ingredients, and formulation technologies - having worked for a cosmetic brand would be a plus
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to turn brand insights into concrete actions for innovation and marketing plans.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
