MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As an Information Security Analyst Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.A. Army Europe and AFRICOM. You will play a crucial role in providing Cyber Security to the command and providing mission command support.

The Frequency Manager is responsible for supporting the mission of determining and managing specific operating radio frequencies from throughout the allocated electromagnetic spectrum for U.S. Army and joint tactical training exercises to include live and simulation events, electronic countermeasures training mission; and establishing other frequency requirements for

command Control and Contingency Communications (C3)

They will be responsible for communicating\coordinating frequency allocations with National Radio Frequency Agency Germany (NARFA-DE); and assist and manage SATCOM and TACSAT for JMRC Observer Controller Teams, US, German, & Multinational Rotational Units during training at the JMRC and associated remote sites.

  • Monitors and analyzes Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation

  • Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information

  • Evaluates firewall change requests and assesses organizational risk

  • Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications, and operating systems

  • Assists with implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls

  • Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans

  • Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise antivirus systems and software deployment tools

  • Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction, or disclosure

  • Researches, evaluates, tests, and implements new security software or devices

  • Conducts investigations of information systems security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management

  • Implements, enforces, communicates, and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications, and information systems security education/awareness programs

  • Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance

  • Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information

  • Provides information assurance project management, technical security staff oversight, and development of mission-critical technical documents

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and privacy laws

  • Develops materials for computer security education/awareness programs

  • Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports

  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

  • May serve as a team or task lead

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Bachelors Degree (additional years of experience can be substituted for degree requirement)

  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience

  • Technical skills: Experience monitoring and analyzing Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation

  • Security clearance level: Top Secret

  • US citizenship required

  • Role requirements: Candidate must possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification

The likely salary range for this position is $105,622 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
