The Role

The Bloomerang Finance team serves as a strategic, cross-functional business partner. Broadly, we are responsible for empowering business leaders to make informed financial decisions through data analysis, strategic guidance, and forecasting.

Specifically, this FP&A Analyst role fits into our operations as the lead administrator and dedicated resource for ensuring accurate variable cost management. By administering the commission platform (CaptivateIQ) and facilitating timely, precise calculations, you provide the critical data foundation that the team relies on for Sales planning, forecasting variable expense, and accurately compensating variable compensation teams. Your diligent work on expense reconciliations further ensures accuracy and provides granular visibility into our operational spending.

The ideal candidate for this role has a “figure it out” mentality and views complex data sets as puzzles to solve. Our effectiveness is built on developing trust—which comes from preparation, a careful approach to detail, and consistency—especially when managing sensitive compensation data. Lastly, the ability to communicate clearly across all teams is paramount, as you will translate technical financial operations into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Commissions & Incentive Management (70-80% of Role):

    • This role will be the primary facilitator of our sales commission processes, ensuring accurate and timely calculation and payout.
    • Serve as the primary administrator and facilitator for the company's sales commission system, CaptivateIQ.
    • Load and validate source data (sales, bookings, attainment) into CaptivateIQ.
    • Run, review, and finalize monthly and quarterly commission calculations for all eligible employees.
    • Partner with Sales Operations and HR to ensure compensation plans and employee data are accurately reflected in the system.
    • Prepare and process commission payout files for Payroll/AP in a timely manner.
    • Address and resolve commission-related inquiries from the Sales team with clear and accurate communication
    • Assist in the ongoing maintenance, testing, and optimization of the CaptivateIQ platform.

General Financial Support (20-30% of Role):

    • Conduct monthly reconciliations of software, consulting and other expense accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper reporting
    • Assist with the bookings deliverable that the FP&A team is responsible for as part of month-end close tasks.
    • Work with rest of FP&A team to partner with cross-functional leaders on department-specific initiatives
    • Learn and grow in their role, building their intuitive understanding of Bloomerang’s business and of the inner-workings of a software + payments business model

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • Autonomous, “figure it out” mentality – comfortable and willing to dig into problems without complete information
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with desire and curiosity to learn at the intersection of strategy and operations
