Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for highly skilled Forward Deployed Engineer to join our growing Data Analytics Engineering & Integration team in El Segundo, CA or ST Louis, MO.

 

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation embedded directly with business teams this engineer partners with subject matter experts across domains such as engineering manufacturing supply chain quality and finance to design deployed data-driven solutions using Palantir foundry this FDE combines technical expertise product sense and communication skills to translate complex business challenges into scalable actionable insights and operational tools

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements define problem statements and translate them into technical requirements. 

  • Design build and deploy end to end solutions within Palantir Foundry leveraging data pipelines ontology design operational workflows and visualization tools. 

  • Serve as a bridge between business and technical teams to ensure solutions align with both strategic objectives and operational needs. 

  • Develop data integrations transformations and models that enable analytics decision making and automation. 

  • Partner with stakeholders to gather feedback iterate on deployed solutions and drive adoption and continuous improvement. 

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and present solution architectures and outcomes to leadership. 

  • Lead or contribute to the testing documentation and change management processes for production deployment. 

  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across functional teams.

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position is for 1st shift.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field. 
  • Hands on experience with Palantir Foundry or similar data integrations and analytic platforms. 
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, TypeScript, SQL and similar data modeling concepts. 
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, APIs and ETL development. 
  • Experience working with data domains such as manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, quality, or finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business technical requirements into actionable technical deliverables. 
  • Familiarity with SAFe Agile workflows, Jira and collaborative development practices. 
  • Excellent problem-solving critical thinking and communication skills. 
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and working independently in ambiguous fast-paced environments.

Desired Skills (Preferred qualifications):

  • Experience in large enterprise environments and familiarity with tools such as Palantir Foundry, Protégé, or similar platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for cross-functional engagement
  • Systems thinker: ability to see upstream/downstream impacts of data and process changes
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder influence skills

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically, 3 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degrees (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred but not required.

Relocation:

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 30% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $102,000 - $159,850
