We are looking for a Food Research Technician II to join our R&D Grocery Team in Omaha, Nebraska.
As the Food Research Technician II, reporting to the Sr Food Scientist, you will set up, operate, disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble testing equipment. You will prepare for bench top, pilot plant or production testing in collaboration with Food Scientists and Pilot Plant staff.
What you'll do in this role:
Conduct bench top/pilot plant testing.
Set up, operate, disassemble, sanitize and reassemble lab and pilot plant equipment.
Prepare for plant and production testing in collaboration with Food Scientists and Pilot Plant staff.
Acquire necessary ingredients and supplies in advance for specific testing.
Assist in managing the shipments of product and ingredients to various production facilities and suppliers.
Plan for multiple testing sequences and various weighing components.
Execute experiments using recognized procedures.
Manage Purchase Orders for the Grocery team on test ingredients and misc. supplies.
Assist Food Scientists as needed in sample preparation and set up for meetings.
Learn and utilize on-line specification system and maintain accurate and complete records.
General lab upkeep/cleaning duties and warehouse/inventory management.
What you'll need:
High School diploma or GED required.
2 years’ work experience in a food or lab environment
Basic knowledge of food safety practices.
Demonstrated ability to communicate well, follow directions and effectively collaborate with others to accomplish common goals.
Willingness to taste a wide variety of food products for evaluation purposes.
Ability to learn and independently operate specialized lab equipment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 40+ pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to stand continuously for up to 4 hours.
Ability to operate and move freely around manufacturing equipment.
Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended workdays including loud noise, heat, cold, wet and slippery conditions and exposure to all food allergens.
You will be onsite 5 days a week.

Compensation:
Pay Range:$49,000-$65,000The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
