The Fleet Analyst is responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting on fleet operations to support data-driven decision-making. This role collects and interprets data from telematics, fuel systems, maintenance records, fleet and equipment purchases, and compliance reports to identify trends, optimize costs, improve safety, and increase operational efficiency. The Fleet Analyst works closely with the Fleet Manager and cross-departmentally to recommend improvements and ensure the fleet operates effectively.
Analytics & Data Maintenance
- Collect, analyze, and interpret fleet data (fuel usage, mileage, maintenance, downtime, etc.) to utilize metrics for annual vehicle and equipment planning.
- Develop, monitor, and send out reporting through fleet management software, to be shared with senior leadership to show accurate fleet and equipment inventory, asset records, total cost of ownership, down-time, and lifecycle cost analysis.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports to monitor performance and support management decisions through the fleet management software and other resources, as needed.
- Identify cost savings, utilization improvements, and efficiency opportunities through various metrics measured and found.
- Provide and analyze metrics on the day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet, including scheduling, dispatching, and utilization.
- Evaluate telematics and GPS data to monitor driver behavior, route efficiency, and asset utilization.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for leasing, purchasing, or outsourcing decisions.
- Analyze vendor performance (maintenance shops, leasing providers, fuel suppliers), providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership on suggested changes for operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Fleet Optimization & Support
- Support vehicle lifecycle management including acquisition, utilization, replacement, and disposal strategies through various activities including but not limited to quotes, titling and registration, tag renewals/surrenders, insurance, DOT annual inspections, recordkeeping, and etc.
- Recommend technology and process improvements to enhance fleet performance.
- Review forecasting costs and supporting capital and operational planning, providing feedback on possible changes or enhancements, when possible.
- Assist with purchasing, reporting, and maintenance of the organization’s fleet and equipment.
- Assist with fuel programs, fuel cards, and consumption tracking.
- Analyze current processes and develop proposals and recommendations for process improvement.
- Assist in safety and compliance audits, as needed.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations impacting fleet operations.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Transportation Management, or related field preferred.
Years of Related Experience: 2–5 years of experience in fleet operations, data analytics, transportation, or related field. Experience with DOT compliance, vehicle maintenance programs, and vendor management a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Strong data analysis & reporting skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate findings.
- Strong experience and comfortability working in Excel, Tableau, or other analytics tools.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Reliable with strong attendance and work ethic.
