About the Role

Support the Associate Director of FCC Analytics and KYC and work independently to ensure AIAHK & Macau operate in accordance with the AIA Group policies and guidelines and local regulatory requirements.  This role focuses on key AML / CFT compliance areas and contributes to the development and implementation of effective AML compliance frameworks, including:


Data analytics for AML process and system innovation and enhancements
AML / KYC advisory for new customer onboarding and ongoing monitoring
AML metrics and regulatory reporting
Outsourcing and data governance
Other regulatory compliance initiatives and projects as assigned

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    AML Analytics for Technological Enablement and Enhancement (50%)

    • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks in customer behaviour and transaction patterns.
    • Support the enhancement of AML systems, including rule tuning, scenario optimization, and threshold calibration.
    • Partner with IT and analytics teams to improve data quality, system logic, and automation in AML surveillance.
    • Contribute to the design of metrics, dashboards and reporting tools to support AML monitoring and decision-making.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing AML controls and recommend improvements based on analytical insights.
    • Lead and participate in system enhancement projects, including user testing, documentation, and post-implementation reviews.
    • Provide insights to senior management to support strategic compliance initiatives.

    AML / KYC Advisory (30%)

    • Provide advisory support for new customer onboarding, including customer risk-based assessments, customer due diligence (CDD), and enhanced due diligence (EDD).
    • Guide business units on AML/KYC requirements and ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory standards.
    • Oversee ongoing customer monitoring and screening, including name screening, adverse media checks, and transaction monitoring alert handling.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely escalation and resolution of AML/KYC issues.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of AML/KYC policies, procedures, and training programs.
    • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on AML/KYC practices and controls.

    General Compliance Support (20%)

    • Assist in implementing compliance policies across areas such as outsourcing, data governance, and etc.
    • Conduct compliance reviews and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to internal and external requirements.
    • Support incident management and reporting, including root cause analysis and remediation planning.
    • Contribute to compliance risk assessments and updates to the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).
    • Promote awareness of the three lines of defence model and foster a strong compliance culture.
    • Provide compliance advisory support to business units to enable responsible business growth.
    • Participate in regulatory compliance projects and initiatives as assigned.

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Computer Science, Business, or related disciplines.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in compliance, AML, or related fields within financial services.
    • Strong understanding of AML regulations, customer due diligence, and transaction monitoring and screening.
    • Experience in AML data analytics and familiarity with AML surveillance systems and tools.
    • Professional qualifications in AML preferred.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
    • Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
    • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently under pressure.
    • High level of integrity and accountability.
