The GME Finance Analyst provides essential analytical, operational, and administrative support to the Senior Project Manager for GME Finance in the coordination, management, and reporting of graduate medical education (GME) activities at Keck Medicine of USC hospitals (Keck, Norris, Arcadia, and Verdugo Hills). This role supports the preparation of Medicare Intern and Resident Information System (IRIS) reports, ensures accuracy and integrity of GME data systems, and assists with the reconciliation and reporting of GME-related financial data. The analyst will work closely with GME leadership, residency program staff, and hospital departments to maintain accurate resident records and time tracking in accordance with federal regulations and institutional standards.
 
- Collaborate with program coordinators and department administrators to ensure timely and accurate entry of resident rotations and funding sources.
- Provide data quality checks and contribute to routine GME finance reporting, dashboards, or summaries for leadership.
- Support the maintenance and accuracy of demographic and rotation data in residency management systems (MyGME, New Innovations).
- Track and monitor time allocations, rotation schedules, and changes to resident assignments for proper hospital attribution.
- Assist with the preparation and review of IRIS reports using HFS software and ensure all data is complete, accurate, and compliant prior to submission.
- Identify and resolve IRIS import errors (fatal, critical, warning) by coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Maintain organized documentation and version control for IRIS workpapers, rotation schedules, and salary justifications.
- Assist in the preparation of audit responses, overlap resolution, and documentation requests from Medicare Administrative Contractors (MAC).
- Monitor CMS GME affiliation agreements and support the execution and documentation of updates as directed.
- Track software updates for IRIS/HFS and implement necessary changes in reporting practices or data structures.
- Develop and maintain reference tools, templates, and guides for consistent documentation and reporting processes.
- Maintain all document collection on new residents, returning residents, and fellows
- Perform ad hoc data analysis and assist with special projects, system improvements, and reporting initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Req Bachelor’s Degree Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Req 3 years Providing reimbursement consultation in the healthcare provider industry; or 5 years strong finance experience.
- Req 1 year Experience in regulatory compliance, federal/state contracting/budgeting, grants, legal, etc. to demonstrate experience working within heavily regulated/audited environments.
- Req Deep understanding of healthcare government reimbursement, particularly in graduate medical education
- Req Demonstrated skills in effectively working with all levels of management
- Req Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Req Great analytic skills, critical thinking, organization, presentation skills
Required Licenses/Certifications: 
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only).
The hourly rate range for this position is $33.00 - $54.02.
