What you’ll do:
You will work closely with Construction/Development, Operations, Tax, Asset Management and Property Accounting teams in providing accounting and analysis to support the CT REIT with Investment Property portfolios.
Work closely with the business and development/construction teams on upcoming projects, cost tracking and accruals
Partner with Asset Management to support the fair value process completed on a quarterly basis
Prepare monthly and quarterly investment property schedules to support quarterly external reporting, including note disclosure
Prepare the quarterly Investor Relations Deck for external stakeholders
Assist with the consolidation of the REIT’s investment properties to facilitate CTC external reporting requirements
Liaise with both internal and external auditors to ensure all information is provided in a timely manner and assist in answering queries
Work with CTC tax department to ensure appropriate information is provided to assist with the preparation of quarterly tax provisions and the filing of annual tax returns;
Participate in a variety ad hoc projects as required
What you bring:
University degree or College diploma in Accounting/Finance or a business related discipline
Pursuing CPA accounting designation
2+ years of experience in an accounting role
Solid understanding of accounting practices and IFRS
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to perform in a fast pace and dynamic environment with a high level of attention to detail
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general ledger accounting systems
Working knowledge of Yardi/Workiva considered an asset
Real estate experience considered an asset
