Field Inventory Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and replenish on-site vending machines, supply cabinets, and tool rooms for customers.
  • Utilize vending software to monitor stock levels and plan replenishment visits.
  • Perform physical counts for VMI and consignment programs to determine inventory needs.
  • Drive company vehicle to customer sites to restock inventory, conduct counts, and support programs.
  • Serve as a trusted on-site liaison, representing the company professionally and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Provide proactive input on inventory stocking levels and refill frequencies, ensuring customers do not run out of product between visits.
  • Observe operations on-site, identify potential issues, and communicate them to Sales or Customer Service teams for resolution.
  • Assist with new account onboarding, including vending machine setup, initial inventory configuration, and basic system configuration.
  • Provide user training on vending machines and inventory systems; troubleshoot issues independently or escalate as needed.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Operations, and Sales teams to coordinate schedules, address customer needs, and support program expansion.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of stock levels, replenishment activities, and customer interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand vending, VMI, and consignment programs at customer sites.
  • Adhere to company safety, operational, and quality standards while handling products and driving company vehicles.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, field service, warehouse operations, or related roles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented thinker with a focus on preventing inventory shortages and addressing issues on-site.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, particularly with high-value items.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Basic technical aptitude with inventory tracking software; familiarity with vending management systems preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle products as required.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of representing the company positively in front of customers.
