POSITION SPECIFICS

The Office of Faculty Affairs is seeking a Faculty Affairs Project Coordinator to support the Center for Faculty Development and Advancement (CFDA) and the Faculty Affairs Project Manager by managing faculty recognition programs, coordinating professional development initiatives, and providing comprehensive administrative and event support. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

  • Maintain and update databases related to faculty awards, scholars, and professorships
  • Manage access to digital platforms including Canvas, Microsoft Teams, and other tools
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, feedback, and outcomes
  • Coordinate timelines, reminders, and communications on behalf of the CFDA Director
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to support branding, announcements, and news articles
  • Prepare agendas, program materials, and presentations for meetings and events

Event Management

  • Schedule and coordinate logistics for programs, trainings, and events
  • Manage event setup, catering, A/V needs, and other logistical details
  • Track attendance and gather participant feedback for continuous improvement

Project Support

  • Administer and support faculty recognition programs including:
    • Non-Tenure-Line Faculty Awards
    • Penn State Laureate
    • President’s Award for Excellence in Academic Integration
    • Faculty Scholars
    • Evan Pugh Professorships
    • Distinguished Professors
  • Assist in the development and implementation of professional development programs
  • Monitor program timelines and ensure deliverables are met

Other Duties

  • Represent the Center at internal and external meetings as needed
  • Provide support for special projects and initiatives
  • Recommend improvements to processes and systems to enhance program delivery
  • May supervise part-time, student, or temporary employees

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, event planning, or administrative support
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Canvas, Teams, and other digital tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Associate Degree 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

    SALARY & BENEFITS

    The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $61,000.00.
