Job Description

The Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division at Leidos is seeking a highly organized and experienced Facility Services Manager with a strong background in grounds maintenance and maintenance operations. This critical leadership role involves overseeing the organization’s physical facilities, including daily operations, maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial, and support services. The Facility Services Manager will supervise custodial staff, coordinate cleaning schedules, and ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment that aligns with organizational goals and delivers exceptional service to occupants.

Additionally, the role includes supervising a Grounds Maintenance team responsible for landscaping, snow removal, and outdoor area upkeep—ensuring all outdoor spaces meet the highest standards of safety, appearance, and functionality. The Grounds Maintenance Supervisor will oversee groundskeeping staff, coordinate landscaping projects, operate and maintain equipment, and enforce safety protocols to promote efficient outdoor operations.

Further, the Facility Services Manager will lead a motivated and experienced Repair Team Supervisor, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and facilities. This includes planning, prioritizing, and monitoring repair activities, providing technical guidance, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, operational expertise, and a proactive approach to managing both in-house staff and contracted service providers, ensuring that all facility and grounds operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise custodial, maintenance, groundskeeping, and other facilities support teams.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of buildings and grounds, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
  • Coordinate and manage routine and preventive maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and structural systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and security regulations and standards.
  • Respond to service requests and manage the work order process, ensuring timely, high-quality resolutions.
  • Administer contracts and relationships with external service providers (e.g., janitorial, landscaping, pest control, waste management).
  • Track facility-related expenses and manage departmental budgets, identifying cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain facility policies, procedures, and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with departments including EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), Security, and Facilities Engineering to support operational objectives.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and execution to ensure occupant safety and business continuity.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, inspections, compliance reports, and facility performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in facilities management or related functions, including 4+ years leading teams or projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of building systems, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
  • 4+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in facility management, including space planning, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of contract management and vendor oversight.
  • Proficient in project management, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Ability to assess organizational space requirements and develop long-range facility strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work with stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Familiarity with budgeting principles and ability to manage tasks within a defined budget.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree (BA/BS) in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience. (Additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Professional certification such as CFM (Certified Facility Manager), FMP (Facility Management Professional), or LEED Accreditation.
  • Experience managing multi-site facilities or large-scale capital improvement projects.
  • Proven track record in sustainability, energy management, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in facility management, including space planning, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of contract management and vendor oversight.
  • Proficient in project management, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Ability to assess organizational space requirements and develop long-range facility strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work with stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Familiarity with budgeting principles and ability to manage tasks within a defined budget.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
