Facilities and Maintenance Officer| Family & Disability Service Property team
Employment Term: Permanent full time
Location: Central office located in Eastern Heights, Ipswich ), with travel to sites as required (infrequent travel required to our North Qld sites), as well as some flexibility to work remotely
Remuneration: Attractive salary on offer + 12% super + Tool of Trade vehicle + Access up to $18,550 per annum tax free with NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Reporting to the Senior Facilities and Maintenance Partner, the Facilities and Maintenance Officer operates across our property portfolio of 300commercial and residential properties, responsible for supporting FaDS facilities and maintenance services, including the planning and delivery of property maintenance and minor capital works.
Your part in our UnitingCare team
Support the delivery of reactive maintenance, in partnership with site managers, for all buildings/facilities across the FaDS portfolio within designated maintenance area
Lead the delivery of planned and preventative maintenance in partnership with operational teams for all buildings and facilities across the FaDS portfolio
Regularly review FaDS sites to ensure sites are fully compliant with legislation, policy standards and accreditation criteria
Undertake regular and routine audits to ensure works are undertaken in an appropriate manner, and that defects and safety issues are proactively identified
Undertake the estimating, scoping, documentation, programming and delivery of project-based works
Work with the Procurement team in relation to vendor management associated with the ordering of goods and services to ensure that repairs and maintenance functions can be carried out safely
Support the development of systems and procedures with site managers to ensure the effective and timely response to reactive and preventative maintenance requirements
Supporting the FaDS Leasing Partners to ensure building maintenance and repair (on externally leased buildings) requirements are delivered to time
Establish and update asset plans, building condition reports and lifecycle replacement plans for the buildings and equipment within area of responsibility
Monitor and report on the budgets and financial outcomes for the areas allocated in an effective and responsible manner
Report and close out any Work Health and Safety incidents, near misses or address preventative actions, working in partnership with Insurance/ WHS
Represent FaDS property during site and external audit activities
Maintain appropriate records relating to fire safety and statutory records, financial transactions and commitments, statutory inspections
What makes a difference for us?
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of facilities or maintenance management services and minor capital project deliver to a large portfolio of properties.
Demonstrated experience in the development of assets management plans and maintenance schedules.
Demonstrated understanding of building and building services related legislation, regulations and standards.
Demonstrated understanding of relevant workplace health and safety regulations and continuous quality improvement practices.
Ability to negotiate and liaise with Maintenance Contractors and Suppliers
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including strong stakeholder management skills and well-developed computer skills
Ability to work autonomously, and/or work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, showing attention to detail and technical competence.
High level focus on customer service; and
All FaDS staff must satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or FaDS policies.
