Position Overview
Boeing India Engineering has an immediate opening for an Experienced Systems Engineer to work on Systems Engineering, Integration and Test for development of avionics systems, cabin Systems, aircraft network system, aircraft interface device and computing devices. This role offers a unique opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges in system engineering of aircraft systems.
This role will be based out of Bangalore, India.
Position Responsibilities
- Validate system requirements, design, and architecture that effectively meet stakeholder needs and comply with relevant regulatory standards and in accordance with ARP4754.
- Execute system safety assessments with proficiency, providing compliance evidence in accordance with ARP 4761.
- Develop Hardware level requirements and architecture and ensure allocation to low level requirements in accordance with DO254.
- Capture requirements for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human factors, security, certification, and product assurance.
- Support stage gate reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR), ensuring thorough evaluation.
- Collaborate efficiently and respectfully with cross-functional teams to define system / hardware requirements, interfaces, and resolve technical challenges.
- Perform hardware and software integration & testing.
- Review and approve detailed test procedures (DTP and traceability) for system-level requirements.
- Conducts Qualification testing in accordance with DO160.
- Adopts recommended practices for compliance with ARP4754, DO254, DO178 and DO160 standards.
- Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and communicate progress, risks, and issues clearly to all stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace, or related field) or higher.
- 8 or more years of experience in Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test within Safety-Critical or Aerospace domain.
- Experience in aircraft avionics and cabin systems development.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Good understanding of aircraft avionics, cabin system, aircraft network system functioning and their integration with other aircraft systems.
- Developed and reviewed system and hardware planning documents - Aspects of Certification, Development Plan, Verification Plan, Process Assurance Plan, Configuration Management Plan, Qualification Test Plan, and Certification Plan.
- Knowledge of ARP4754, 4761, DO254, DO178 and DO160 standards.
- Developed hardware requirements, architecture and interfaces
- Reviewed aircraft system requirements, architecture and interfaces
- Performed hardware & software integration and testing.
- Developed DO-160 Qualification test procedures and hardware test procedures.
- Experienced in test planning, setup, test development, execution, conducting tests in a lab or production environment.
- Participated in Program Gate Reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and developed artifacts for gate reviews.
- Experienced in Requirements Management tools like IBM Rational DOORS.
- Hands on experience on project planning, estimation, and work breakdown structure (WBS) creation for systems / hardware, integration and tests deliverables.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Typical Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace) with 9+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree in engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
