The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Communications and Branding Specialist to join the Communications team in North Charleston, SC.
You’ll be part of a team that works together to bring appreciation and understanding for what it takes to bring engineering ideas to production reality, supporting the commitment to safe flight and quality products. The successful candidate will bring curiosity, a creative spirit and proven skills in writing, video production, strategic communications and event planning and executive consulting.
The successful candidate will:
Serve as the primary site communicator for Boeing South Carolina, managing site and program communications activities on an ongoing basis
Provide creative and strategic support to our Engineering and technical organizations as well as our Fabrication, Propulsion and Research and Technology organizations
Be a hands-on storyteller, communicating in a style that informs and connects while showcasing the innovation and passion of our Boeing teammates and their work
You’ll develop clear, compelling and credible content across multiple communications channels, including written, video and digital platforms.
Please note: This role is based in North Charleston, SC and reports to the Boeing South Carolina Communications leader. The selected candidate must live in or relocate to the Charleston, SC, area.
Position Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with technical experts and communications peers
Grasps complex, detailed information and translates it into clear and compelling communications
Applies knowledge of fundamental communications and branding principles to create and coordinate compelling video and written content for internal and external audiences
Plans and manages the promotion of stories, including internally and, when warranted, with key media
Works with Media Relations and site Communications leadership to prepare responses to media inquiries as needed
Demonstrates strategic thinking, foresight and sound judgment in developing engaging and informative communications support for key business partners
Partners with broader Communications team and other stakeholders to develop integrated communications plans, strategies, messages and tactics that support Boeing business objectives
Cultivates and maintains strategic relationships with senior Boeing leaders
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience with video story telling (shooting, narrating and editing)
Experience producing, writing, and editing communications plans, strategies and deliverables
Capable of distilling complex, technical and abstract concepts into concise messaging and stories through clear and compelling prose
Managing multiple projects concurrently
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Experience in corporate communications, public relations agency or news media
Experience supporting executives and/or senior leaders
Demonstrated exceptional strategic, written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to persuade and motivate to action
Interest in manufacturing/engineering/technology processes and innovation

Summary pay range: $84,150 – $113,850
