Job Description

The Event Planning Coordinator works with the Event Services Team and student staff to produce high-quality successful events for customers of the Ohio Union. Works closely with event staff including Catering Audio Visual and Production teams; provides service for customers hosting events in and around the Ohio Union; works with customers to map out their event needs including catering AV and production needs; plans food and beverage services, catering and other specific needs for conference groups and meetings; consults with clients and vendors regarding detailed arrangements; plans catering for conferences meetings and special events; oversees and ensures smooth execution of assigned events; serves as contact for customer needs before, during and after events; proactively works with event schedule and student staff to determine upcoming event needs; coordinates information about events with other university departments; available to work evenings and weekends.

Additional Information:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education experience. 2 years of relevant experience required.  Flexibility in schedule, including evening and weekend work in conjunction with scheduled events. 

 

Desired Qualifications:

2-4 years of years university event planning and/or production experience; experience using event management and room diagramming software; high volume food and beverage or catering experience; experience servicing and/or selling to customers in a university setting; strong communication and organizational skills; excellent rapport with customers; attention to detail and follow through skills; working knowledge of audiovisual equipment and professional printers.

 

Job Profile Pay Range

$19.28-$25.19.  The offer for this position will be based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications.
