In data analysis at PwC, you will focus on utilising advanced analytical techniques to extract insights from large datasets and drive data-driven decision-making. You will leverage skills in data manipulation, visualisation, and statistical modelling to support clients in solving complex business problems.
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer with strong expertise in Power BI and a mandatory financial background to join our growing data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable BI solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and maintain robust BI solutions.
- Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL databases, APIs, Excel, cloud platforms).
- Develop and optimize DAX queries and data models for performance and usability.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Implement and maintain data security and governance standards within Power BI.
- Monitor BI tools performance and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Provide training and documentation for end-users and stakeholders on Power BI usage.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience as a BI Engineer, Data Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases, and Python or R for data analysis.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Proven financial background with hands-on experience in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, or forecasting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
- Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Factory).
- Exposure to other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst) are a bonus.
