Product Design: The ESPN Design team thinks beyond what is possible today. They discover, disrupt, and chart a course to where our fans and consumers will be next. Design brings the Disney magic to life by building digital customer experiences via the entire portfolio of both consumer-facing products and internal products and tooling. This includes Sports, Entertainment, News, Streaming and Enterprise Products and Experiences.

ESPN designers are creative problem solvers who looks to collaborate inclusively throughout our design process and evolve the way ESPN operates. We expect an intern to contribute design iteration to ongoing project workstreams, with in-depth knowledge about the latest design trends and technologies.

In this role you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of ESPN’s digital products and will shape how sports fans worldwide follow live games, consume stats and scores and engage with sports.

You don’t have to be a superfan, a jock, or a stats nerd, but you should be strongly motivated by a desire to explore the intersections of design, technology, community, and sports fandom.

What You Will Do:

  • Contribute to the design of app and web experiences for consumer-facing products
  • Collaborate with a diverse set of partners
  • Work closely with teammates to produce design solutions using sketches, wireframes, and high-fidelity mock-ups.
  • Present design work for feedback.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Have experience designing experiences and user flows
  • Understand user-centered design principles and best practices
  • Are a self-motivated, problem solver
  • Are hungry for innovation, eager to challenge the status quo
  • Have an interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and design skills
  • Have a strong work ethic, are reliable, adaptable, and work well with others
  • Have knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite

Education:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student in an accredited college/university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI, Design, Art, Human Interface, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:  

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants:  You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.  
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization 

Additional Information:

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from M-F, 40 hours each week for the entire program duration: May/June - August/September 2026 (12 weeks)
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
The pay rate for this role in San Francisco, CA and Glendale, CA is $38 per hour.
