At our Equine Specialist Hospital, we’re seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Nurse ready to make a real impact within our 24/7 equine specialist team. Our state-of-the-art hospital offers advanced services in surgery, internal medicine, sports medicine, and diagnostic imaging, including CT, scintigraphy, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, and standing MRI. Working alongside leading veterinarians, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both our clinical operations and the work-integrated learning of Veterinary Science and Veterinary Technology students. With a rotating shift schedule, you’ll gain diverse clinical experience across specialist areas while contributing to the care and wellbeing of our equine patients.
As a 24-hour operation, the rotating roster provides exposure to a broad range of cases and opportunities to develop your skills across multiple specialty areas. Your take-home salary will be dependent on your specific roster, including loadings of 50% for weekend shifts, 25% for night shifts, and 15% for afternoon shifts.
Afternoon shifts are shifts commencing at or after midday and finishing at or before midnight, Night Shift are shifts extending beyond midnight and finishing at or before 9AM.

Key responsibilities will include:
Deliver skilled clinical nursing care and technical support across ICU, isolation, and hospital wards, including assistance with diagnostic imaging and specialised procedures.
Maintain and manage specialised equipment, pharmacy inventory, and digital records using practice management software.
Provide high-quality administrative and customer service support to veterinarians, students, clients, and external stakeholders.
Contribute to teaching and training of Veterinary Science and Veterinary Technology students while adhering to and improving nursing SOPs.

Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and/or Bachelor of Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) or equivalent, with at least 2 years of nursing experience.
Proven ability to deliver and maintain high standards of professional veterinary nursing across all areas.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work flexibly, independently, and with initiative.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, clients, and students.
Sound knowledge of ethical standards, workplace health and safety, and relevant employment policies.
Effective team player with enthusiasm, self-motivation, and commitment to professional excellence.
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and contribution to clinical teaching and student training.
Willingness to engage in professional and community service activities and ability to obtain a radiation licence.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, mandatory immunisations.
