Involves assessing, planning, organizing, scheduling and supervising the work of all Environmental Service personnel engaged in maintaining the facility in a clean, safe and orderly condition. Will continuously make rounds of the hospital to determine special assignments or project work which is needed. Makes inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of the department. Plans and conducts meetings to enhance each employee’s knowledge of their duties. Other supervision and resources as requested by the department manager/director. Works in a fast paced and potentially stressful environment. Makes decisions to act on responsibilities without being instructed. Educates staff in facility and department standards designed for a specific environment. Dresses to meet dress code specified for a leadership position. Practices good public relations and follows all safety regulations. First line supervision of housekeeping service delivery, enabling quality outcomes and timely completion of schedules.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Completion of Leadership Development course preferred. Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, effectively. Ability to work well under time constraints. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to work independently. Basic knowledge of infection control procedures and universal precautions. Ability to train and supervise people.
One-year supervisory experience or two years' experience in a related field at an above average level. Displays leadership ability and possess the desire to cooperate with internal and external customers.
Pay Range: $18.50 - $24.66
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
