About the role and what you will be doing:
Join our team as an Entry Level Mainframe Capacity Planner, supporting mainframe client environments. Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of mainframe experience and are eager to advance their skills through structured upskilling and local mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze mainframe resource usage and performance.
- Support development of repeatable processes for KPI metrics.
- Assist with performance analysis, diagnostics, and incident investigations.
- Collaborate with teams on storage, virtual tape, and network technologies.
- Contribute to capacity projects and client onboarding.
Main Responsibilities Once Up to Speed:
- Independently manage multiple mainframe client accounts for optimal performance.
- Develop and maintain KPI processes and client forecasting models.
- Perform detailed analyses and provide recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Support diagnostics, incident resolution, and onboarding/outmigration projects.
- Engage in strategic capacity initiatives and cross-technology collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in a mainframe environment.
- Exposure to any programming language.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mainframe System Programming experience.
- JCL and/or script coding experience.
- Experience with MXG or similar reporting tools.
- Power BI proficiency.
- Experience supporting multiple client environments.
- Database/data warehouse concepts.
- Familiarity with ZCP3000, IBM pricing concepts, and SCRT.
- KPI identification and definition.
- Knowledge of OS internals and system performance analysis.
- Mastery of corporate IT processes and methodologies.
