About the role and what you will be doing:

Join our team as an Entry Level Mainframe Capacity Planner, supporting mainframe client environments. Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of mainframe experience and are eager to advance their skills through structured upskilling and local mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze mainframe resource usage and performance.
  • Support development of repeatable processes for KPI metrics.
  • Assist with performance analysis, diagnostics, and incident investigations.
  • Collaborate with teams on storage, virtual tape, and network technologies.
  • Contribute to capacity projects and client onboarding.

Main Responsibilities Once Up to Speed:

  • Independently manage multiple mainframe client accounts for optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain KPI processes and client forecasting models.
  • Perform detailed analyses and provide recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Support diagnostics, incident resolution, and onboarding/outmigration projects.
  • Engage in strategic capacity initiatives and cross-technology collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a mainframe environment.
  • Exposure to any programming language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mainframe System Programming experience.
  • JCL and/or script coding experience.
  • Experience with MXG or similar reporting tools.
  • Power BI proficiency.
  • Experience supporting multiple client environments.
  • Database/data warehouse concepts.
  • Familiarity with ZCP3000, IBM pricing concepts, and SCRT.
  • KPI identification and definition.
  • Knowledge of OS internals and system performance analysis.
  • Mastery of corporate IT processes and methodologies.
